Field Trip to Harrisburg Quilt Show

Yesterday, I went over to the Harrisburg Quilt Extravaganza show. It was a last minute decision since the last show I went to (Hershey, PA) was not as exciting as I thought it would be. I am lucky in that the Harrisburg/Hershey shows are rather close. Yesterday was the last day for the Harrisburg show. When I got there, I was able to park rather close to the FarmShow complex which I thought was odd. Last year when we went to the Harrisburg show, we had to park a good distance away.

After paying my $8 to park and $10 entrance fee, I was on to the Vendor area. Maybe not so many vendors are traveling and maybe it's the economy, but I did not think there were as many vendors as last year. Also, several of the larger quilt machine booths were only taking up one square. There were several great fabric sites.

The entrance quilts were beautiful though. So, I think I need to change my thoughts and say I'm going to the quilt show to see the quilts and not to shop. The shopping I think can be done better on the Internet. Here were my favorite quilts from the show. There was one quilt that looked like it was the same pattern as my stain glass quilt.

I also found some great fabric for the border or backing of my hummingbird quilt.

  1. I was also at the Harrisburg Quilt yesterday. That was my first one so I did not know what to expect there. I really enjoyed my time there with my Hubby and two kids.

  2. Beautiful, beautiful quilts thanks for sharing them. I am inviting you to participate in a Fall into Fall Quilters Blog giveaway that I am hosting. Come on over and check it out.
