Next Project and Back to basics

Now that my Halloween wall hanging is completed and might I say hanging rather nicely on my front door for all to see. It's nice to see that as I pull in the driveway after work. This year I've decided to finally make all the seasons wall hangings for myself. So far, Halloween completed, Christmast Staged (Christmas tree top completed) and now it's on to my next holiday (Fall/Thanksgiving). Here's what I have chosen.

This is a pattern for a 30" x 36" quilt by Barbara Smith. The difficult part will be picking out the fabrics that nicely represent the fall colors. You can find this pattern on Quilting Keepsakes website.

I also finally received my new beginners long arm DVD. I started watching one DVD when a friend of mine said no, you should start with "Tips and Techniques for Longarm Machine Quilting Video DVD by Donita Reeve". She said this was a better starting point to get the basics down and start out right. Here's what the cover looks like in case you are interested.

I have lots of plans for my vacation starting next week. Usually in fall hubby and I take a nice longer vacation. This year, a new furnace took the place of our vacation. Therefore, we will be having the ever popular "staycation" this year. My goal is to obviously do some quilting, watch the DVDs, and become more comfortable with my HQ16. All this is pending whether I have to cancel a few days vacation due to work. Things are pretty busy there so, we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for stopping by
