I have been busy trying to teach myself how to digitize designs. I'm taking it pretty slow but it's been keeping me pretty busy. The latest two files I've been working on are basic applique shapes. I know when I try to free stitch a satin stitch, It just doesn't come out right. This way, I can rely on my embroidery machine to complete the satin stitching for me and it turns out beautifully. In the future when I have a few designs, I want to use them to raise money to support Cancer research.
If you have an embroidery machine and would like to test out my designs in the future, please feel free to contact me. Recently, I've been working on the most basic appliques. A shamrock for St Patrick's day and a Heart using the AccuQuilt Go Medium heart.
Here is my shamrock applique. I like my satin stitching to be small and tight around the applique. I wasn't able to trim the applique fabric close because I misplaced my applique scissors. However, I know others are better at trimming applique fabric than me. That's why I love using the GO! dies. No trimming.
If you would like to download the shamrock applique file, the following formats are available. When you are transferred to the MediaFire website for download. Click on the box that states: "Click Here to Start Download"
I also digitized the AccuQuilt Go Medium heart. There is a little bend on the bottom left heart that was not covered completely by the satin stitches but it is pretty small. I'll work on correcting that. You can see it by clicking on the image to enlarge and clicking again to zoom in.
