Olympic Pillowcase Progress

I've started sewing my pillowcases that were pinned before. I call them my Olympic Pillowcases in honor of their colors that match the Olympics. There are 8 cases on the 3 color variances. They sew together so fast using the hot dog method posted previously. Here's 3 to start.
I love the colors in the pillowcases. Makes me think of the ocean as well and WARM weather!! I also love using the french seam. It is sooo clean. I don't think I'll ever do a pillowcase without it. That or the hot dog method of attaching the top band and accent.

I also picked out a new purse to work on. I went simple to continue my progress. It will be a cell phone bag. I have a pattern from Quiltsmart that I'll try out. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. These are gorgeous! Green/blue has become my favourite colour combination (do you suppose that's sublimal influence from the Olympics!?) I like the colours you put together in your projects - nice eye.

  2. Great colours. I love the unuuk that is the logo too. I'm thinking it could make a great quilt block too.
Gold for hockey...in Canada, it just doesn't get any better. Even if I 'm not a hockey fan, I'm happy for the kids!
What am I going to do after today?
