Home Raised Monarch

Happy Labor Day.  Today was the emergence of our first Monarch Butterfly.   It's always neat to see that something so beautiful comes from such a tiny spec of an egg and then a tiny tiny caterpillar.  Here's the photo of our first release.  You can see a few of the other chrysalis we have hanging in the container on the bent back lid.  The first photo is the tiny caterpillars.  One of them is this butterfly.  The second photo is the release today.
